Sungard Data Centre is pleased to announce the completion of two new data centre halls, that are now available to the Adelaide market place.
The data halls are approximately 300 sq metres each (600 sq metres in total), and are in addition to the 1,150 sq metres of existing data centre space, already occupied by long term clients within South Australia’s largest and fully operational data centre facility . Release of the new data halls to the market is the culmination of a major upgrade project including building, electrical, mechanical and fire systems upgrades that have resulted in improvements to the capacity and reliability of the 6,000 sq metre campus facility.
Sungard has also adopted some of the latest environmental initiatives, that will see a dramatic reduction in water consumption used in cooling processes, as well as some of the latest power supply technologies to enable efficient use of power. The new data halls utilise free air cooling when ambient conditions are within defined parameters, further improving the site’s energy efficiency and reducing environmental impact.
Sungard would like to thank SA Power Networks for their involvement in the project, in providing 2.3MVA of power from alternate substations to the Kidman Park facility. We also recognise and appreciate the skills and commitment of major South Australian professional services companies Norman Disney and Young and Jones Lang LaSalle, in conjunction with main contractors Nilsen, AG O’Connors and Spectrum Fire.
